On Harassment Charge
State police report that they were called to Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road, about 3:30 pm September 28 to investigate a report of a suspicious letter.
After investigating, state police arrested inmate Jeffrey Michael Pierce, 33, on a charge of second-degree harassment.
Pierce was later arraigned in court on the charge. He has not entered a plea in the case. He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 20.
Pierce, who was admitted to the state prison system in August 1998, is serving a 25-year sentence on a second-degree kidnapping conviction.
