To the Editor:

Why does Jordana Bloom deserve your vote for Newtown town clerk? Her skills, personality, and experience make her a perfect fit for the town clerk position. Consider the job description. Who can manage records and licenses? Someone who has run her own business and realizes the importance and rewards of paying attention to detail. Who can manage elections? Someone who is an elected official (Legislative Council) who understands the campaign process, and by serving two terms, understands and practices good governance. Jordana interfaced beautifully with the community as a member of the Legislative Council, and her community experience is essential while serving as town clerk. Who can be a compassionate, effective veterans service contact person? Someone who wears compassion on her sleeve, as Jordana does every single day, and someone who always follows through with commitments, which I’ve watched her do for the past five years as a colleague on the Democratic Town Committee.

Shortly after meeting Jordana on the DTC, she became a friend. If you know her, you understand her warmth. When our team was asked to volunteer for a task, if within a few seconds no hand went up, within the next few seconds Jordana’s hand would be the one to go up. She was a team member in every sense of the word, and every task she performed was a job well done.

As the saying goes, “When you want something done, ask a busy person.” Jordana has four children. What? She was a volunteer in their schools and in sports. This, in addition to what is mentioned above.
