Made A Big Mistake
To the Editor:
I cannot believe that the Board of Education signed the All-Star contract. The BOE is supposed to be there for us, and I feel they are not. I went to the BOE meeting on October 4. During public participation many residents and I spoke in favor of keeping the owner-operators. The BOE listened with cotton balls in their ears except for Debbie [Leidlein]. They said they have made their decision for All-Star and there is nothing we can do. They are not even going to wait for the owner-operators labor complaint to see what happens.
They want to do this before the election. Some are not even running again so they do not care what people want or think. Just wait and see how much our taxes go up with this decision. Some people think we will save money, and that will not be the case. Everything is going up except peopleâs salaries, more people are losing their jobs. The economy is not good. Now this decision. They are not thinking of our children, only their decision, which is wrong and we will be paying for this in the long run. Wait until All-Star goes on strike and wants more money. The BOE that voted for them will be a gone and where will that leave us.
