Verna Cochrane, 89, of Newtown, died October 2 at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Andrew B. Cochrane, Jr.
She was born February 5, 1920, in Bronxville, N.Y., daughter of Hugyo and Sarah (Corson) Kaiser.
She was a Newtown resident for the past 26 years and previously resided in Stamford. She was a member of the Newtown Garden Club and the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Cochrane and his wife, Cathy, of Monroe and Andrew B. Cochrane and his wife, Linda, of Canton, Ga.; a daughter, Lynn DeLuke and her husband, Otto, of Ridgefield; a sister-in-law, Helen C. Fogarty; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and three nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday, October 7, at the Ridgebury Congregational Church.
Cremation took place at the direction of the family.
Friends were scheduled to be received at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 8 pm.
