James B. âUncle Jimâ Lane, 73, of Nokomis, Fla., died August 19. He was born in Bridgeport to Richard and Lauvisa (Middlebrook) Lane.
Mr Lane moved to Nokomis in 1971 from Sandy Hook after retiring from the Air Force as a technical sergeant. He was an interrogator with the Air Force intelligence and served in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and several other countries. He earned a Bronze Star. He and his brother Don and sister-in-law Irene sold tools at the Dome Flea Market.
Survivors include his siblings, Richard of Matthews, N.C., Stuart of Whitakers, N.C., Selwyn of Twin Mountain, N.H., Thomas of Troy, N.H., Mary Lou Loch of Stratford, Lois Ognan of New Milford, and Edith Mesaric of Troy, Maine. He was predeceased by his brothers Wallace of Ontario, Canada, and Donald of Nokomis.
Services were held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
