BROOKFIELD CENTER â The Celtic folk duo Taraâs Thistle will present a program of traditional Scottish folk songs on Sunday, October 23, at 3 pm, in the Community Room of The Brookfield Library
The concert will be the next in the libraryâs ongoing fall-winter concert series, Afternoons at The Arbor. During the cooler months the concerts are held inside the library.
Singers Bruce and Sandy Hedman will perform with guitar and bodhran (Irish drum) accompaniment, and will also play the Great Highland bagpipes, the small Lowland bagpipes, harmonica, Irish flute and pennywhistle. The duo has been performing together since 1995 and has been enthusiastically received by audiences at libraries, bookstores, fairs, town concerts and coffeehouses throughout Connecticut.
