Boys U14
Southbury 6, Strikers 1 â After hitting the wood work three times, Mike Terlaga scored a second-half goal for the Strikers, but it wasnât nearly enough against a strong and deep Southbury team. Matt Hoffman, George Delia, Russell Morgan and Ryan Pasko played hard in defense while Steven Zarifis was outstanding in midfield, assisting the Newtown goal.
Litchfield 5, Strikers 1 â Mike Carafiello scored off a corner kick taken by Daniel Hufziger in a loss to Litchfield. Kyle Wildman in goal for the Strikers was MVP, making a series of fine saves. Greg Campbell, Dakota Voliotes, Russell Morgan and Mike Renz also played well.
Girls U14
Roadrunners 2, Watertown 2 â KellyAnne Brophy scored after a great goalie punt from Casey Rutter and Molly Mahoney scored a well-placed goal as the Roadrunners drew even with the defending league champions. Sarah Murtha, Emma Kingsley and Meagan Gonzalez played great in the midfield.
Roadrunners 1, Southbury 1 â Emma Kingsley drilled home a rebound for the lone Newtown goal. The Roadrunners pressured throughout but could not net additional goals. Kelly OâConnor, Sarah Attanasio Ali Pliszka, Jill Jagoe and Meaghan Carney all had outstanding games.
Boys U13
South Windsor 3, Force 1 (State Cup) â Travis Leblanc scored the only goal for the Force in the second round of State Cup action. Austin Puleri played great in goal.
Brookfield 3, Force 1 â Travis LeBlanc scored for Newtown off a cross from Sean Burson in a loss to Brookfield. Thomas Healy and Tarren Horvath also played well.
Boys U12
Cobras 5, Southington 2 (State Cup) â Newtown was victorious in its first State Cup game. The scoring was dispersed with Connor Quinn, Christian Mather, Pieter Martino, Ian Solaski and Eric Fiore all contributing a goal. Fiore joined Danny Bittman and Richard Greenwood with an assist each. Defensively, the Cobras were led by Andy Kelley, Colin Moller and Patrick Thornberg.
Cobras 2, Manchester 1 (State Cup) â The Cobras were impressive in their second State Cup win. Connor Quinn and Chris Erikson led the scoring with a goal a piece. Christian Mather provided an assist. Newtownâs defense was the deciding factor in this game behind the strong play of keeper Sean Elliot and defenders Nick Gerbo, Stephen Conway and Matt Rahtelli. The midfield was controlled by Nick Barreto and Sam Langdon.
Cobras 5, New Hartford 0 â The offensive charge was led by Connor Quinn, Nick Barreto, Dan Bittman, Eric Fiore and Richard Greenwood, each with a goal. Ian Solaski and Drew Sullivan aided in the offensive pressure. Defensively, the Cobras were impenetrable with Sean Elliot and Chris Erikson sharing duty at net and Andy Kelly, Matt Rahtelli and Stephen Conway providing the pressure.
Girls U12
Flash 1, Brookfield 0 (CT Cup) â Tressa Scott scored the lone goal off an assist from Stephanie Roman to lead the Flash to a Connecticut Cup win. Jenna Hindes was aggressive on defense while Melissa Buccino and Caitlin Yakush were tough on goal.
Girls U11
Darien 1, Jaguars 0 (State Cup) â Danielle Shine was strong in goal, but the Jaguars fell to a tough Darien team. Jaclyn Daily and Tess Murray anchored the defense as Taylor Brady and Reagan Cerney played well up front.
Jaguars 1, New Fairfield 0 â Gabrielle DeBartolmeo and Lindsey Jagoe played well on defense in a shutout of New Fairfield. Angela Halili scored the lone goal off a rebounded shot by Shannon OâGorman. Jamison Fletcher and Allie Brazo were strong in the midfield.

Girls U14
Purple Pirates 4, The Rage 0 â Emily Lones, Lauren Pettinelli, Mara Scallon and Alyssa Finkenstadt all scored to lift the Purple Pirates to the win. Randi Jackson and Kayla OâLeary played well in goal. For The Rage, Claire Miles and Katelyn Dandrea both played well in goal as Amanda Stanton, Molly Sheluck, Quincy DeYoung and Claire Bernson had solid performances.
Hurricanes 0, Sharpshooters 0 â Alyssa Kneski and Grace McKinley of the Hurricanes stopped numerous shots on goal with the support of Rachel Karnoff and Jessica Haitz on defense to earn the shutout. Molly Arneth and Kyra Smith played well up front. Sharpshooters goalies Zoe Eggleston and Gabriela Kalinowski were equally as stingy with the support of midfielders Alexandra Grant, Alice Delia and Elisa Boedecker.
Boys U14
TNT 2, Danbury 2 â Mike Terlaga scored a pair of goals as the TNT drew even with Danbury. Austin Quinn, Blake Obre-Untiedt and Christian Barrett all contributed to TNTâs offensive line as Ricky Fuentes and Peter Kerns anchored a strong defense.
Liverpool 3, Danbury 0 â Luke Shearin and Tyler Hanna scored to lift Liverpool past Danbury. Forwards Niles Wilson and Brandon Luxkaranayagam supplied the offensive pressure as Gavin Scallon controlled the midfield.
Meteors 5, Wolves 1 â Kieran Lardner (with an assist) and Jack McManus scored two goals apiece as the Meteors defeated the Wolves. Chad Cullens also had a goal and Ethan Perkus was strong in the midfield. For the Wolves, Kevin Dill scored the lone goal while Patrick Haggerty and Jonah McKeown played well in the midfield.
Boys U10
Camel Shards 4, Hurricanes 1 â Matthew Mossbarger scored three times and Joshua Tuffy scored once as the Camel Shards downed the Hurricanes. Michael Unschuld played a great game on defense and Joseph Anastasi did an excellent job in goal. For the âCanes, David Csordas scored the lone goal. Michael Cook and goalie Patrick McGowan had fine performances.
Red Bulls 5, Huskies 0 â Carter Nordman , Jordan Abraham, Anthony Vournazos, Ryan Durr and Michael Parker all scored a goal as the Red Bulls blanked the Huskies. Brandon Unger and Michael Alicea anchored the defense for the Huskies while Sean McMullan and Travis Hanna played well on offense.
Wolverines 1, Dynamite 0 â Isaac Farrington had a fine performance defense for the Wolverines with Brandon Rodriguez solid in goal and Michael Biancardi and Peter Manfredonia playing well all around. For the Dynamite, Danny Tobin and Paul OâLeary anchored the defense while Michael Berko played well on offense and Jacob Hill did a good job in goal.
Girls U10
Twisters 4, Nighthawks 0 â Maggie Kost scored a pair of goals while Emily Campbell and Katie Mossbarger added one apiece to lead the Twisters. Madeline Fletcher and Mikayla Kuligowski were strong on offense. For the Nighthawks, Susan Ziegler, Marissa Liberante and Julia Schoeni played well and Alyssa Ruefenacht stopped many shots on goal.
Strikers 2, Tie Dye Tigers 2 â Kelsey Muniz and Selina Henn scored the lead the Strikers. Aâine Duffy, Emily Sippin and Kelly OâConnell had great games. For the Tigers, Kerry Scallon and Emily Grimes each scored and both Hannah Grant and Sierra Mather had strong games in goal and on the field.
Comets 2, Rockets 0 â Hayley Dunn and Taylor Zingaro scored to lead the Comets to the win. Kat Jennings and Noelle Veillette both had fine all-around performances. For the Rockets, Lindsey Fiori was solid in goal while Nicole Mendorca and Hannah Booth were strong on defense. Brianna Baranowski played well in midfield.
Boys U8
Yankees 3, Lightning Bolts 2 â Declan Sullivan scored a pair of goals and Sam Cox added one to lift the Yankees to the win. Grant Varnum and Sam Zakur played well on offense while Gregg Trimarchi anchored the D. For the Bolts, Matthew Buzzi and Matthew Kretz scored while Thomas Cotton, Ben Dieckman, Andrew Janco and John McCann powered the defense.
Girls U8
Killers 3, Huskies 2 â Anna Biondi scored two goals and Caroline Condon added a solo to lead the Killers to the win. Amanda Donovan played well on offense while Margaret Elkins anchored the D. For the Huskies, Katie Laaksonen and Celia Gold had a goal apiece and Maya Delity and Sydney Johnson played a solid all-round game.
Rockets 2, Power 0 â Christina Moore scored a pair of goals to fuel the Rockets. Sarah Lyon was solid on offense with Brittney Antous as Jane Ricketts paced the defense. For the Power, Morgan Goldstein and Maya Neuhoff played well in midfield and Juliana Patelli had a good game in goal.
Skunks 2, Mustangs 0 â Clare Boyle and Colleen McCarthy scored off assists from Casey Harkins and Emily Charash in the last three minutes of the game to lead the Skunks to the win. Joanelle Tran posted the shutout in goal. For the Mustangs, Alana Murray and Bridget Spies were strong on offense while Allison Indelicato and Sarah MacMullen were aggressive on defense.
Funky Monkeys 4, Pink Panthers 0 â Kathryn Blanco, Makenna Cerney, Caitlyn Linden and Jessica Maturo all scored to lead the Monkeys to the win. For the Panthers, Jada Farrington and Keira Veillette did well on offense as Danielle Scarpa and Annie Bedell paced the D.
Boys U6
Blue Lightning 3, Fireballs 1 â Dylan Sock scored all three goals to lead the Lightning to the win. Tyler Dickinson paced the defense. For the Fireballs, JT Burke scored while Jacob Kaderli provided support on offense.
Blue Lightning 4, Werewolves 3 â Dylan Sock scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Blue Lightning to the win. Jack Murray added a goal and an assist. Midfielder Daniel Reilly and goalie Alex Street played well. For the Werewolves, Ian Crowe scored twice and Brennan Mayer scored a goal while also playing great defense throughout the game. Robert Murray had a strong effort.
Blue Sharks 1, Hurricanes 1 â Ethan Cox of the Sharks and Nicholas Harper of the Hurricanes scored the goals in this 1-1 draw. For the Sharks, Jeffrey Klein and Garrett Fetchick played well. For the âCanes, Maxwell Goldstrein, Daniel Fore, Jack Armstrong and Quinn Fitzgerald played well.
