New Homes For Nearly 4,000 Animals—

Rescue Group To Celebrate Tenth Anniversary

SOUTHBURY — Animals For Life, a nonprofit animal rescue group, is celebrating ten years of saving lives this year. To commemorate its successes, the organization will host a “Paws and Celebrate Tenth Anniversary Gala” and fundraiser on Saturday, October 21, at The Dolce Heritage.

The evening celebration will begin at 6:30 and will feature a buffet dinner and live entertainment provided by Doug Ferony & His Show Band. Mr Ferony performs a big band-style repertoire of swing, Broadway show tunes, 50s hits, jazz, and more. He has performed at major hotels, night clubs, and concerts in places like San Diego, Las Vegas, and his home state of New York.

There will also be an auction held during the gala, with top prizes such as a Caribbean vacation, jewelry by Gayle O’Neill Fine Jewelry, and much more.

Advance reservations are required by October 18, as seating is limited. Cost to attend is $100 per person.  To reserve a seat or table, call 263-2441.

Animals For Life was established in 1996, beginning as a small group of dedicated volunteers who rescued, fostered, and found new homes for abandoned companion animals in the Southbury area. The group held adoption events once a month and established a regional helpline where the public could contact them for assistance with an animal in need, or to adopt a companion animal.

Today the Animals For Life volunteer base continues to grow, as does the numbers of animals saved each year. To date, the group has worked tirelessly to find new homes for more than 3,800 dogs, cats, and other animals who otherwise may have been euthanized or forced to live their lives on the streets.

The organization offers public adoption hours several days each week, where available animals can be seen on a regular basis. The work that it does now reaches across the Northeast and touches more animals and people than ever before.

Donations and fundraisers such as the gala are vital to the life-saving work of the nonprofit group.
