Youth Programs
Children of Divorce â First meeting on Monday, October 16, from 6 to 7 pm, at Newtown Youth Services. This group is open to students in grades one through six.
Sibshops â This group is for children who have a brother or sister with special needs. First meeting will be Monday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm, also for students in grades one through six. There is no fee for either of the above groups.
The High School Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will meet on Monday, October 16, at 2 pm, in the high school cafeteria. This is a community service-focused group and all high school students are welcome.
Parent Programs
Moms of Infants â Newborn to one year will meet on Tuesdays. This group will be held from 10:30 to 11:30. Fee is $25. Space is still available for this program.
Gym Time â Walkers to preschool will meet on Thursdays at the Edmond Town Hall gym from 9:30 to 11:30 and the fee is $30. Space is still available for this program.
Steps Support Group is an eight-week support group for parents or guardians and their children to discuss common issues in blended families. Are you arguing over parenting differences, ex-spouse behavior, child support, new rules vs old rules? This new group may be for you.
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 11, at Newtown Youth Services, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Parents and their fifth through eighth grade children are required to attend the first meeting. For further information, call Nancy Anderson or Laurie Petrasanta at NYS.
Support Groups
Hope and Support meets on Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. Parents or guardians with questions or concerns about a childâs possible or confirmed involvement with substances are welcome to attend this group.
Grandparentsâ Group â The Second Time Around: Raising Your Childrenâs Children is an ongoing support program that meets Wednesdays, noon to 1:30 pm. There is no fee.
