A Call For Artists

Western Connecticut area artists are invited to showcase their original paintings at The 2006 SCAN Fall Art Show & Sale, being held Friday through Sunday, October 20-22, at Newtown Meeting House. The show highlights works by members of the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, an organization dedicated to promoting fine art in the region.

Receiving for framed oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media and graphic pieces, as well as unframed work in portfolios, will be Thursday, October 19, from 4 to 7 pm, at the meeting house, 31 Main Street/Route 25 (at the flagpole) in Newtown.

The entry fee is $10 for up to three framed pieces; an additional $5 is charged for a portfolio of up to 17 unframed pieces (artist to provide portfolio and stand). Computer generated prints or commercial reproductions are not accepted.

All work must be offered for sale; twenty percent of the sales are donated to SCAN. Artists new to the organization may join for the $20 membership fee at the time of receiving.
