Danbury Hospital Orthopedics

Among Nation’s Top 35

DANBURY -- For its tenth edition of ranking America’s medical institutions, US News & World Report  ranked Danbury Hospital 35th in the country in the specialty of orthopedics.  Danbury Hospital was the only Connecticut hospital to make the prestigious orthopedic list which included the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota; Hospital for Special Surgery in New York; Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; Johns Hopkins in Baltimore; and the Cleveland Clinic.

US News & World Report based its scoring on reputation, mortality rate, Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) membership, technology, discharges, RNs to beds, and whether the hospital has a trauma center.  Danbury Hospital has a Level II Trauma Center.

“Danbury Hospital takes pride in this achievement; however, it is our patients who benefit most from the excellent care that they receive here,” said Craig Foster, MD, Chief of Orthopedics at Danbury Hospital.  Dr Foster is a member of Danbury Orthopedic Associates which earned this recognition along with Brookfield Orthopedic Associates and Connecticut Family Orthopedics in Danbury.  Danbury Hospital also attributed this honor to its attending and assistant attending orthopedic physicians and consultants as well as the staffs of its Orthopedic/Neuro/Trauma Unit, Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery, Trauma Service Team, Emergency Department and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
