Holiday Closings: Columbus Day

Town, state and federal offices will be closed on Monday, October 9, in observance of Columbus Day, a federal holiday. 

Most Town boards and commissions will not meet Monday.

(The Board of Education Technology Committee [naviga:u]does [/naviga:u][naviga:u]have a meeting scheduled[/naviga:u] at 10 am at Newtown Municipal Center, however.)

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library will be closed.

Newtown Public Schools will be open; St Rose of Lima School will be closed on Monday.

The Newtown Bee, at 5 Church Hill Road, will be open.

Edmond Town Hall will be open Monday. There is [naviga:u]one screening scheduled[/naviga:u] of this week's featured film.

Newtown Bridge Clubs will [naviga:u]not be hosting games on Monday[/naviga:u], however; the club will be spending the week in Danbury at a regional tournament. All club games October 8-11 have been canceled. 

There will be no United States Postal Service deliveries. UPS does not observe Columbus Day, however. Locations will be open, and UPS will pick up and deliver packages as normal. FexEx will also be operational, with the exception of FedEx Home Delivery and a modified service for FedEx SmartPost.

Most banks, including Federal Reserve Banks, Bank of America and Wells Fargo, will be closed. TD Bank will remain open on Monday.
