Ultra Marathon Runner Raises Money For Foundation
Newtownâs David Rosen participated in the Vermont 50, an ultra marathon run and bike ride in Ascutney, Vt., this past Sunday, as part of his fundraising efforts in support of the Strike 3 Foundation, benefiting children battling cancer.
Rosen, who ran, reported that the pack of runners he was in was halted just two miles short of finishing the 50 mile run because of trail conditions and time limits. âSo close and I had it in me to finish,â he said, adding that it rained throughout the run, and poured in the second half.
âIt was impossible to get a footing and runners and bikers were wiping out all over the place,â Rosen said.
Rosen, who has raised more than $4,800 from 45-plus contributors, says he will look into entering another 50-miler next month in an effort to officially accomplish his running goal.
