Fall Foliage Hikes
Fall Foliage Hikes
DERBY â The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protectionâs (DEP) Kellogg Environmental Center will be holding a program about the wonders of autumn on Saturday, October 13, and again on Saturday, November 3. Both hikes will run from 10 to 11:30 am.
Attendees will be able to explore the glorious colors of fall with a Saturday morning hike through the grounds of the Kellogg Estate and Osbornedale State Park. While exploring the autumn forest, learn how and why leaves change color, learn about different Connecticut trees, and be enlightened by fall folklore. All ages are welcome.
The program is free, but preregistration is required. To register or for more information, call the Kellogg Environmental Center at 734-2513 between 9 am and 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The environmental center is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (off Route 34).
