It's A Casual, Casual World
Itâs A Casual, Casual World
STAMFORD â A recent Fairfield County Information Exchange/SACIA survey of workplace policies has found that the world has gone casual, at least the Fairfield County business world. Khakis, collared shirts, slacks, casual skirts, and dresses are more common than not.
In the survey, 89 percent of responding firms said their employees dress down, at least for designated periods of time.
Although how companies defined casual was not as resounding, they were still telling. Seventy-seven percent of companies define casual dress a business appropriate attire, and 31 percent just said no to jeans, ties, sweats, shorts and sneakers.
And just when you think life at work couldnât get any better, it does. Fifty percent of companies said they were casual year round, except when meeting with clients, and 32 percent were casual on Fridays throughout the year.
Still in the works is the second part of the Workplace Policies survey highlighting work hours, which will be released next week. It is a project of SACIA, the Business Council of Southwestern Connecticut.
