Celebrate The Harvest Season
Celebrate The Harvest Season
WEST REDDING â New Pond Farm will host its traditional celebration of the harvest season on Saturday, October 16. As visitors enjoy the 102-acre farm at 101 Marchant Road, they will have opportunities to press fresh cider, decorate pumpkins, make corn husk creatures, design spoon puppets and create a variety of other old-fashioned crafts.
The festival will run from 11 am to 4 pm. Rain date will be Sunday, October 17.
There will be demonstrations by a broommaker, a walking stick carver, a sign maker, and corn huskers. There will be live music. In addition, there will be hay rides pulled by a Belgian draft horse, and a display of antique farm tools loaned from Redding Historical Society members.
Reservations are not needed. Admission is $2 per person, with an $8 maximum for families. Because of the animals that live at the farm year-round, New Pondâs staff asks that festival visitors leave their dogs and other pets at home for the safety and comfort of everyone.
