Troy Boys 11, Red Flames 10: Ryan Birch had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI while Kevin Bonacci also had two hits and scored twice to lead the Troy Boys to the win. Robert Brautigam was solid on defense while Chris Marks pitched well. For the Flames, Ralph Sergovanni had three hits and Jeffrey Dinicola had two hits. David Kapyscinski and Mike Locorotondo led the defense as Ryan Pendergast pitched a shutout inning.

Minors
Brookfield 17, Newtown Mets 16: Alex Grier and PJ Cochrane powered the offense in a slugfest with Brookfield. Ryan Clark made a diving back-handed catch in centerfield to spark the defense and Gregory Larnerd pitching a scoreless inning. Brookfield scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to capture the win.
10 Year Olds
Team #13 8, Red Dogs 5: Jeff Davis, Joe Greenfield, Alan Hubbard and Nick Urso all led Team #13 to the win while Kurtis Liska, Ken Picerno, Matt Kuruc, and Kyle DiNicola paced the Red Dogs. Liska banged out a pair of run-scoring doubles.
Majors
Green Machine 7, Team #4 5: After Team #4 scored six quick runs, Brendan Reilly shut the door with two scoreless innings to lead the Green Machine to the win. Seth Hull was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI while Reilly added a bases-loaded single for two RBI. Rightfielder Tom Selleck sparked the defense with a strong throw to third to nail a runner. For Team #4, Steven Vichiola, Brian Duffy and Scott Suhoza all pitched well. Suhoza, Duffy, Vichiola and Kevin Silber all collected two hits as well.
Brookfield 21, Green Machine 1: Seth Hull, Scudder Baggett and Josh Powers pitched well in front of some shaky defense. Eric Rodriquez and Hull both smacked solid hits for the Machine. Corey Fletcher and Tom Selleck were strong in the outfield.
Brookfield versus Maroon Marauders: Outstanding base running by David Berliner (who scored twice after being walked) wasnât enough to lead the Marauders over Brookfield. Jonathan Larsen was 2-for-2 with a double and a triple and Michael Barbous singled in thefinal inning.
Brookfield 10, Maroon Marauders 7: The bats of Bobby Grauer, David Berliner, Mike Tibbetts and Jonathan Larson ignited a five-run sixth inning, but the rally fell short. Rich Temple pitched three strong innings while Shaun Coakley played well at first base.
13-15 Year Olds
Newtown Junior West 7, Newtown Junior East 4: The East team jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the top of the first, but the West team was able to rally, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth for the eventual final score.
In the top of the first, Kyle Symantowitz, Chad Smenyak, Charlie Fulkerson, Tim LaPak and Ross Proctor all collected hits for the East. But Ronnie Isler then settled on the mound for the West and held the East to just one hit and no runs, while striking out 14 batters over the next six innings.
The West played errorless defense with Doug Bonjour a standout at first base. The offense was led by Joe Gantert, Ross Alpert and Isler â all who went 2-for-3 on the day. Dan Jura and Alex Rode both doubled to drive in runs. Jura and Greg Williams both scored a pair of runs.
Newtown Junior West 8, Bethel Junior West 5: Joe Gantert pitched seven strong innings, striking out nine, and helped himself with a key hit to lead the Newtown Junior West team to the victory. Newtown pounded out 10 hits with Ron Isler, Greg Williams and Ross Alpert collecting two apiece. The trio combined for four RBI as well. Tom Ramsdell had a hit to drive in a run while Alex Rode and John Modzelewski each had a hit.
Rode was on base twice and pilfered three bases, scoring twice.
