Thompson For Legislative Council
To the Editor:
I am writing to endorse Rance Thompson's candidacy for Legislative Council, District 3. Rance came to town 26 years ago as a young man who had a passion for landscaping and a desire to run his own business. He attended Western Connecticut University to learn about business and then struck out on his own to build his business into what it is today. He had a plan, worked hard to achieve that plan, adding customers and expanding the market area to build the customer base he has today. He is wise enough to know that success takes hard work and also some breaks in life. He feels that it is important for him to give back to the community that has been so good to him and his two daughters.
In addition to running his business, he has become a part of the community by supporting local charities and civic organizations like the Newtown Historical Society, the C.H. Booth Library, and the Newtown Scholarship Association. Recently, he was appointed to the board of the Newtown Scholarship Association. His support of charities has included monetary donations, pro bono work, and supporting their fundraising events.
Rance would like to share what he has learned to make his local business prosper by bringing that perspective to Newtown's government as a member of the Legislative Council. I believe that his enthusiasm, work ethic and thoughtfulness will benefit the council and Newtown.
