David W. and Cristina (Amaral) Jones of Barrington, N.H., formerly of Danbury and Sandy Hook, announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, Sydney Amaral, on September 16, at 11:28 pm at Wentworth Douglas Hospital, Dover, N.H.

Sydney weighed seven pounds, two ounces, and was 20 inches in length.

Sydney’s maternal grandparents are Jack and Cecelia Amaral of Danbury.

The paternal grandparents are Sylvia Jones of Newtown and Ron Jones, Sr, of Sandy Hook.

Sydney’s maternal great-grandfather is George Amaral of Portugal.

Her paternal great-grandmother is Sylvia Ziemer of Southbury.
