Eden F. Corbett
Eden F. Corbett, 42, of Bridgeport, wife of Thomas M. Corbett, died September
15 at Norwalk Hospital.
She was the sister of Erin Bolmer of Newtown.
Born in Norwalk, December 31, 1956, daughter of the late Donald and Barbara
(Bussing) Ferguson, she had been a Bridgeport resident for 18 years. Mrs
Corbett held an associate's degree from Briarwood College and was working on a
paralegal degree. She was a legal secretary with Micro Warehouse, Inc of
Norwalk.
Survivors, in addition to her husband and sister, include another sister,
Briana Bolmer of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 18, at 10 am
in St Mary Church, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery, Norwalk.
Friends may call at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, Friday,
September 17, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.

Honora Kish
Honora "Norah" (Lippiello) Kish, 74, of Stratford, wife of the late Andrew J.
Kish, Jr, died September 15 in her residence.
She was the mother of Katheryn Maguire.
Born in Middletown, she had been a Stratford resident since 1951. Mrs Kish was
a homemaker.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her son, Andrew J. Kish III of
Naugatuck; two sisters, Clara and Dora; five grandchildren, Scott, Kate and
Kelly Kish, and Jamie and Michael Maguire; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, September 17, at 11 am,
at Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street in Stratford. Interment will be in St
Michael Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs Kish's memory to Family

Matthew J. Pollaci
Matthew J. Pollaci, 90, died on September 7 at Sag Harbor, N.Y. He was
formerly of Plainfield, N.J., and Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr Pollaci was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on August 6, 1909, and was a lifetime
member of the Knights of Columbus.
Married for 61 years, he was the beloved husband of Camille (Verzella)
Pollaci, loving father of Arthur and Ronald of New York, Anita Arnold of
Newtown, and the late Matthew, Jr, of Plainfield. He is also survived by ten
grandchildren, including Christopher and Elizabeth Arnold of Newtown, five
great-grandchildren, and son-in-law, Drew Arnold of Newtown.
Memorial donations may be sent to East End Hospice, PO Box 1048, Westhampton
Beach, NY 11978.
A Memorial Mass and interment will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church in
Newtown on Saturday, November 6, at 2 pm.

Larry S. Miguel, Sr
Larry S. Miguel, Sr, 80, of 7 Albers Road, Danbury, died September 13 at
Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Sally (Oliva) Miguel.
He was the brother of Linda Batista of Newtown.
Mr Miguel was born in Silveira de Sima, Portugal, on October 23, 1918, a son
of the late Joseph and Maria (Simoes) Miguel.
Educated in Portugal, he came to the United States in 1931 and has been a
Danbury resident ever since.
Mr Miguel served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. During his tour
of duty he served as a drill instructor in St Petersburg, Fla., training the
troops. He continued his service as a staff sergeant in the Asiatic-Pacific
Theatre with the 505th Bombardment Group on the island of Tinian.
He worked many years as a purchasing agent for the former Fabric Fire Hose
Company of Sandy Hook and then went to work for the Davis and Geck Company of
Danbury, where he worked in the security department until his retirement in
1984. Mr Miguel was also the director and on-air personality of the Beautiful
Sounds of Portugal Sunday morning radio show on WINE radio, bringing the
Portuguese music and culture to the Danbury area by commercial radio.
He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and a lifetime member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, and
Disabled American War Veterans. He served as city councilman from 1952 to 1958
and as second selectman from 1969 to 1977.
Besides his wife of 53 years and sister, he is survived by two sons, Larry
Miguel of Danbury and Ronald Miguel of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Manuel
Miguel of Danbury and Americo Miguel of St Petersburg, Fla.; three other
sisters, Phyllis MacKinnon, Eleanor Cassidy, and Julie Corona of Danbury;
three grandchildren, Brian, Mark and Tricia Miguel; and two
great-grandchildren, Ryan and Karyssa Miguel; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church on Friday, September 17, at 10 am. Burial will be in St Peter Cemetery.
Calling hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street,
Danbury, on Thursday, September 16, from 5 to 8 pm.

Raymond Dembek
Raymond P. Dembek, 58, of Bridgeport, brother of Henry M. Dembek of Newtown,
died September 12 in St Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport.
Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Martin and Helen Dembek. A
lifelong resident of Bridgeport, he was a retired printer and foreman for the
Connecticut Post for over 35 years.
Survivors, in addition to his brother, include a nephew, Michael S. Dembek.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 14 at St Michael the
Archangel Church. Interment was in St Michael Cemetery.
Commerce Hill-Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport, was in
charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Bennett, Sr
Joseph M. Bennett, Sr, formerly of Bridgeport and Fairfield, died September 10
in Brattleboro, Vt. He was the husband of the late Lena P. (Fracassini)
Bennett.
He was the father of Susan Lee Warburton of Newtown.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a son, Joseph Bennett, Jr, of
Brattleboro, Vt.; sisters, Jean LaConte of Milford, Rose Cennamo of Trumbull,
and Marie Bennett of Bridgeport.
A funeral mass was held September 13 at St Michael Church, Brattleboro, Vt.
The Max E. Carr Funeral Home, 147 Western Avenue, Brattleboro, Vt. was in
charge of arrangements.

Silverio Palmesi, Sr
Silverio (Ed) Palmesi, Sr, 68, of Easton, husband of Kathleen (Wheeler)
Palmesi, died September 11, in St Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport.
He was the father of Meloyde Palmesi of Newtown.
Born in Mt Kisco, N.Y., the son of the late Armando and Teresa (Segneri)
Palmesi, he was a Trumbull resident for 15 years before moving to Easton 16
years ago. A graduate of Hartwick College in 1953 with a bachelor of arts
degree, he taught in the Oneonta School System before founding and
establishing the Drum Stick Bar-B-Q located on Main Street, Bridgeport, where
he had worked for over 35 years, and also operated a second store located on
State Street in Bridgeport from 1980 to 1995. During his spare time, he bred
rabbits and chickens as a hobby.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and daughter, include his children, Alea
Witt of Monroe, Roni DeBenedetto of Florida, Merrilee Hunter of Bethany, John
Jay Palmesi of Coconut Creek, Fla., Silverio E. Palmesi, Jr, Stacey and Kari
Ann La Riccia, and Ryan La Riccia, all of Easton, and Robert L. Russo, Jr, of
Waterbury; grandchildren, Jennifer and Chris Owen of Shelton, Kerrilee Hunter
of Bethany, Jacob La Riccia of Easton, and Kaila and C.J. Arnold of Waterbury;
brothers, Americo Palmesi of New Mexico, John Palmesi of New York, Anthony
Palmesi of New York; sisters; Polly Carpenter of New York and Mary Dew of
Shelton; his very dear friend, Joseph Gulliuzza of the Pilgrim Bar-B-Q,
Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers,
Albert and Ettore Palmesi.
Funeral services were held on September 15 in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home,
4798 Main Street, Bridgeport. Interment was in St Francis of Assisi Cemetery,
Mt Kisco, N.Y.

Zelda Zeigler-Little
Zelda K. Zeigler-Little, 87, formerly of Hamilton, Ind., died September 11, at
Danbury Hospital.
She was the mother of Jim Zeigler of Sandy Hook.
The daughter of the late Arthur and Matilda Chapman, she was born December 29,
1911, in Hamilton, Ind., and was a life-long area resident.
She was united in marriage on April 10, 1930, to Warren L. Zeigler, who
preceded her in death on October 30, 1970. She then married Glenn D. Little on
May 8, 1975, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1996. She was food
services manager at Cameron Hospital in Angola, retiring in 1975, and was a
member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Butler, Indiana.
In addition to her son, she is survived by two other sons, Bob Zeigler of
Angola, Ind., and Gary Zeigler of Wayne, Penn., one stepdaughter, Sharon
Surfus of Springfield, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one
son, Earnest Zeigler; and one stepson, Max Little; two sisters, Florence
Brokaw and Isabelle Chapman; and two brothers, Cordell Culbertson and Kenneth
Chapman.
Services will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 18, at the Oberlin and Ford
Funeral Home, Hamilton Chapel, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton, Ind., with
Rev Kathy Hostetler officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, September 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm (Indiana
Time) at the Oberlin and Ford Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to the
donor's choice.

Vincent DeLucia
Vincent DeLucia, 72, of Danbury, died September 11 at Danbury Hospital. He was
the husband of Angela (Ferrante) DeLucia and the father of Peter DeLucia of
Newtown.
He was born July 28, 1927, in Santa Maria, Avico, Caserta, Italy, a son of the
late Peter and Madeline (Nuzzo) DeLucia.
Mr DeLucia attended law school at the University of Naples, Italy, and
immigrated to Venezuela, where he became a successful, self-employed
businessman.
He and Angela were married in 1960 and moved to the United States. They have
been Danbury residents since that time.
He was the owner and operator of several businesses in Danbury, including the
former Nuova Italia Imports and Italian Delicatessen on West Street. His
endeavors then progressed to real estate investments in the surrounding area.
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by two other sons, John
DeLucia of Danbury, and Dr Orlando DeLucia of West Hartford; two brothers,
Pasquale DeLucia of West Haven and Andrea DeLucia of North Carolina; five
sisters, Elena DeLucia and Guiseppina DeLucia, both of West Haven, Maria
DeLucia of Milan, Italy, and Rosalia Nuzzo and Teresa Guida, both of Italy;
three grandchildren, Christopher, Cayley and Alexis; and several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Carmello "John of Italy" DeLucia.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 13 at St Peter Church,
Danbury. Burial was in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Lillian Strickland
Lillian A. Welter Strickland, 87, of 116 Twin Brook Road, died September 10 in
Ashlar of Newtown after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Andrew
Strickland.
She was the mother of Dianne Wassman-McIlrath of Sandy Hook.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, Robert C. Strickland of
Bangkok, Thailand and San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Emma Badali of Ogden, Utah;
two brothers, Ralph Welter of Meriden and Bruce Welter of Hamden; nine
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister,
Dorothy Edmonds and brothers, Robert, John and Daniel Welter.
Funeral Services were held September 15 at 11 am in the Hamden Memorial
Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Avenue, followed by burial in Beaverdale Memorial
Park.
