To the Editor:

Two weeks back you printed a letter from Steve Landin that alleged that the Democratic Party has had a moral lapse and its statements about Trump were in some way responsible for the two attempts on his life. I certainly question the concept as I am confused as to how Lincoln’s Party could support a candidate who has multiple women accusing him of assault and in fact has been convicted of a sexual crime. How the Republican establishment can look the other way regarding the thirty plus felony convictions Trump is awaiting sentencing on. How they ignore the fact that he said “if you want to have a country you have to fight like hell” when speaking at the 1/6/2021 event that lead to a mob of MAGA members attacking our seat of government.

When in office Trumps inaction and ignorance of the threat lead to over a million Americans dying and tens of millions infected some with permanent damage from Covid. The Biden administration may not have done everything right but at least they focused on saving lives and no the public relations impact that seemed to be Trumps only focus. Mr Landin’s assertion that the actions taken by the Biden government to save lives by attempting to get as many vaccinated as possible was some evil act is simply foolish.

Our nation has required vaccination against numerous viruses since before Salk created the Polio vaccine that saved millions of lives! His secret negotiation with the Taliban talks he did not discuss with the legal government of Afghanistan or any of our allies and removal of 90% of our ground forces from the combat zone actually what set-up the Taliban takeover and resulted in the lose of American Combatants and numerous locals. His stealing secret documents and lying to the FBI that he had any in his possession is what lead to the FBI raiding his club to reclaim our property! As for the rioters of 1/6/2021 they broke the law and many were not only trespassing but were involved in physically assaulting the security forces many intent to hang the Vice President Mike Pence!

There is no rational explanation of Trumps affection for Putin, or any of the dictators he sucks up to except that he dreams of someday our citizens being dumb enough to reelect him and with the mind set that he is immune to prosecution for anything he does as long as it is through the use of the Executive Branch to get it done! Imagine that and you can see what a terrible idea another four years for Trump would be!

I won’t even attempt to discuss the craziness he and his running mate have demonstrated regarding the false rumors in Ohio, or the Cat Lady comments Vance has repeatedly made!

Trump has been fact checked thousands of times. His reputation as a liar is globally understood! We deserve better and Harris is the answer.
