To the Editor:

I’m writing to endorse Michelle Ku as Newtown’s representative in Hartford. Michelle is connected to and understands Newtown and our residents.

Michelle has a long history of service to Newtown through both appointed and elected positions. She served eight years on the Board of Education, (four of them as chair), was elected to the Legislative Council, and now serves on our Board of Selectmen.

I’ve watched her in action, and she is always thoughtful and prudent in weighing alternatives. She goes out of her way to consider the views of others.

She has, and will continue to, represent all of us in a nonpartisan manner. We need a representative who advocates for and represents all of us.

It’s time for new energy and perspective in representing Newtown in Hartford. Michelle has the experience, temperament and perspective to do an excellent job.
