To the Editor:

In a letter to the editor last week, Ms Quinn states that Trump opposed the Senate border bill because he wanted the campaign issue in the election. She fails to mention the specific reasons why he and the vast majority of Republicans opposed the bill. In it, border crossings had to average more than 5,000 per day for a month before the Federal government could act. Even then, if this tipping point was reached they didn’t have to act. It was up to the discretion of the chief of Homeland Security Mayorkas who had lied for four years that the border was under control. (Recall that former Obama DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson said 1,000 daily border crossings was a crisis.)

So the bottom line is that Democrats eliminated all controls at the southern border imposed by Trump, including Remain in Mexico, for 31/2 years, ignored a much tougher House bill already on Schumer’s desk which Jahana Hayes failed to vote for, and then duped two or three clueless Republican senators into agreeing to this sham bill. They expected its passage would somehow soothe the nation’s anger over Biden/Harris’ border security incompetence and indifference to the consequences their actions had on the country. Immediately after details were announced Senators Lankford and McConnell realized that the bill had no chance of passage because of complete Republican House opposition.

The Democrats, especially, Senator Murphy of Connecticut, have been pressing the “Trump killed the bill” point for months, obviously for political reasons since it is not true. They have also been bragging that crossings are down over the last few months, conveniently forgetting that BidenHarris are letting illegal immigrants apply online and then they fly them into the country without being counted.

Incredibly, while VP Harris was making her first trip to the border in three years, the Federal government released statistics on criminals released into the country. Over 425,000 who had already been convicted of crimes in their home countries! Over 660,000 including those who were facing trial. And, in what may be the most egregious example of all, Biden/Harris have lost track of over 300,000 immigrant children!

If Kamala Harris were to be elected president, we could only assume, based on her record as border czar that these stunning failures would continue unabated. How many towns of 60,000 people would be forced to accept 20,000 illegal immigrants swamping their social services networks, as has happened in Springfield, Ohio? How much more gang activity will arise as on Long Island or in Aurora, Colorado where Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua, is forcefully taking over an apartment complex and collecting the rents for themselves?
