Soccerfest Was A Team Effort
Soccerfest Was A Team Effort
To the Editor:
The Newtown High School boysâ soccer program hosted its fourth annual Soccerfest on September 23. It was a great evening for the soccer program and for the community! The success of the event was the result of a team effort but there are a few people and local businesses weâd especially like to acknowledge.
Thanks to: all the soccer moms and dads who donated auction items, raffle items, and their time; the NHS custodial staff for setting up tables and getting the stadium Soccerfest-ready; the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Company for the firefighters, truck, and lights; Mike Kerler of Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor, Keith Miller and the Newtown Youth Academy, and Brian Woodhouse of Hilton Hotels for their generous donations; Lexington Gardens; the Sandy Hook Barber Shop; Salon Michele; the Creamery; and Sportsplex Bethel; Newtown Soccer Club for their participation; the fans who came to support the Nighthawks; and finally the Varsity boys, who played an exciting game.
Be sure to help us Pack the Stadium in memory of Kim Harmon on October 4 at 7 pm, when the Nighthawks take on Masuk.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Clark
