Pasquale âPatsyâ Caruso, 76, died September 27, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born February 26, 1932, in Greenwich, the son of Joseph and Caroline Caruso.
His survivors include his wife, Barbara; four children, Patrick Caruso and his wife, Joanne, of Sandy Hook, Diane Judson and her husband, George, of Wingdale, N.Y., John Caruso and his wife, Theresa, of Dover Plains, N.Y., Debra Emerson and her husband, John, of Dover Plains, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Frank Guy Caruso of Greenwich; and sisters, Angelina Gauruder of Greenwich, Mary Hughs of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Rose Searles of Bedford, N.Y. His brothers Frank I. and Joseph, and sisters, Carmella Caruso and Carmella Santaguida predeceased Mr Caruso.
Mr Caruso was married May 23, 1953, to Barbara Butkovsky of Stamford. After serving in the Air National Guard, he and his brothers owned and operated CCC Carting Company of Greenwich and later owned Ulster County Refuse of Kingston, N.Y., as well as operating a farm in Clove Valley, N.Y. While living in Gilbertsville, N.Y., he was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic and machine press operator. In Dover Plains, N.Y., he was employed by Palumbo Block. Upon retirement, he was employed by Associated Refuse Haulers of Newtown.
He was Past Master of Dover Masonic Lodge 666, former president of the Dutchess County Shriners Club, and a member of the Dutchess County Cyprus Shepherds Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 30 at St Johnâs Roman Catholic Church in Pawling, N.Y. Interment was in St Charles Cemetery, Dover Plains, N.Y.
