Holland Bulbs For All Seasons
The Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown will host a program called âHolland Bulbs For All Seasonsâ during its next meeting. The program, which is open to non-members free of charge, will be on Wednesday, October 8.
Karle Dalley will present the program. She will discuss how to incorporate bulbs into the landscape for almost any season beginning in the early spring (or whenever the snow begins to melt) into autumn that will give you a blooming season that spans eight to ten months out of the year.
Ms Dalley is a freelance garden writer and lecturer, a water gardening expert, a self-employed garden designer and consultant, and a local expert on a variety of garden topics. She has worked at Gledhill Nursery in West Hartford, one of Connecticutâs destination nurseries.
She has also been a lecturer at Capital Community College where she offered various one hours courses on gardening. In addition, she lectures to garden clubs, womenâs groups, and nurseries.
Currently, Ms Dalley is the book reviewer for the Connecticut Horticulture Society and serves on its board of directors. Her backyard is certified as a Backyard Habitat by both the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection and the National Wildlife Federation.
The program will be held at the Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. Refreshments will be served at 7 pm and the lecture will begin at 7:30.
