Computer Society To Meet Oct. 7
Computer Society To Meet Oct. 7
DANBURY ââ On October 7 at the Danbury Area Computer Society general meeting, members and anyone interested in computers will learn about the intricacies of hard disks.
Gene Barlow will talk on behalf of PowerQuest Corporation, a data recovering and hard disk back-up system. He will explore the different backup options available and help members and all interested attendees pick the one best suited to their needs.
A hard drive is the heart of the computer and contains all of the operating system modules and application programs that make the computer function. It is also where data files are stored. Losing any or all of the files stored on a hard drive can be a major disaster and one that would take weeks or months from which to recover. Hard disk maintenance comes alive and interesting when Gene Barlow tackles it.
The DACS meeting will take place in the Danbury Hospital auditorium starting at 7 pm with the main presentation at 8. For additional information about the meeting and directions to the Danbury Hospital Auditorium, check the DACS web page at www.dacs.org. DACS general meetings are free and open to the public.
