Citizens Against Common Core
To the Editor:
I want to inform you and your readers that there is an important meeting to help better understand the implications of education reform in Connecticut. The highly controversial Common Core reform agenda will be the topic of information and discussion on Sunday, October 5, at the Black Rock State Park in Watertown.
From 10 am to 1 pm, a series of speakers will address issues associated with Common Core state standards, parental rights, high stakes testing, and privacy concerns in this age of data information sharing. The keynote speaker is Dr Christopher Tienken, a professor at Seton Hall University.
This meeting will provide parents and concerned citizens with an alternate viewpoint from what is generally communicated by districts who have been advised to follow the State Department of Education’s Commissioner’s Toolkit. This parent seminar is brought to you by concerned citizens and more information can be found at CTAgainstCommonCore.org.
Sincerely,
John Bestor
