Up A Tree
Up A Tree
To the Editor:
I wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to some special people who got a small kitty out of a tree in the Shady Rest neighborhood this past Monday, September 21.
Although I had many people tell me that the kitty will come down when it was hungry, I wasnât confident that was going to happen with this little one. I watched this kitty for a day and half crying down to me for what I felt was help. On Monday morning I called Monica Roberto of The Animal Center for help. Monica assisted me in contacting Alan Potter at The Newtown Arbor Services Co., Carolee Mason, our townâs Animal Control Officer, and Nancy Crevier at The Newtown Bee.
With just one call to Al Potter he took time out of his very busy work day to drive over to my neighborhood with his bucket truck and rescue this kitty from the tree. Carolee Mason was also dispatched to the location and when Al was able to rescue this kitty from the tree he handed her over to Carolee, who brought her to the vet to be treated for dehydration and receive a checkup.
I was so impressed with everyoneâs diligent efforts to get this kitty out of the tree. Our community is lucky to have all of you.
Thank you so much!
