Special Book Donation Day

At Library

“Old Mother Hubbard, Went to the Cupboard, To get her poor doggie a bone; When she got there, the cupboard….” was full of gently used books no longer read by Mother Hubbard or her family. If this is the situation at your home, take those books down off of the shelves and hustle down to the C.H. Booth Library for the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library special Book Donation Day, Sunday, October 18.

“Donations are down for next year’s annual book sale, compared to previous years,” explained Friends’ volunteer Toni Earnshaw. Last year’s special Book Donation Day to remedy the same situation was so successful, the group has decided to reach out to the community once again.

Donations of books, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and LPs can be brought to the rear parking lot of the library between the hours of noon and 5 pm, October 18. Volunteers will be on hand to help carry books, for those who need assistance, and special arrangements can be made to pick up large donations of books. Tax receipts are available for those donating items to the Friends.

The annual book sale is the biggest fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library each year. It has earned regional acclaim and is attended by thousands of book lovers.

Donations can also be dropped off at the library during regularly scheduled library hours.

For more information, call 426-4537. Funds raised by the annual book sale benefit the C.H. Booth Library.
