Dennis Miller, Peter Pilot, Brian Sacco, and Emery Klein of the Newtown Bee Publishing Co. printing facility attended the annual Printerâs Picnic and Clambake sponsored by the Connecticut Litho Club, Saturday, September 19, at Holiday Hills in Cheshire, but it was Mr Sacco, printing facility manager, and Mr Klein, binder operator at the press, who walked away with an armload of trophies.
Teaming up in the horseshoe tournament, Mr Klein and Mr Sacco out-tossed 40 other contestants to place first in that event. And proving that it is not only the printing business that is smooth sailing for them, the duo deftly poled their way down to one end of the Holiday Hills waterway to the other in record time on an inflatable raft, once again taking the blue ribbon.
Nor was Mr Sacco tapped out when it came to the Hammer and Nail contest. In just three well-aimed strikes, he hammered home a nail completely into a board, and walked away with a trophy.
âItâs a fun day out with printers from all over Connecticut,â said Mr Sacco.
The trophies are currently on display in the main Newtown Bee office, 5 Church Hill Road.
