Juried Art Show At Danbury Mall

DANBURY — The Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance will hold its first Juried Fine Art Exhibition at the Danbury Mall from October 2-15. The show features a wealth of art by nearly 50 local artists of diverse age and experience.

“Art is not just for the wealthy,” says Lisa Scails, HVCA Executive Director. “Our purpose is to make fine art accessible and inviting to everybody.”

This show would not have been possible, she says, without the collaboration between local arts groups, businesses, and community leaders, such as the Sculpture Barn in New Fairfield, Richter Guild of Artists, The Art Spot and Union Savings Bank in Danbury, The Society of Creative Artists in Newtown (SCAN), Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and many more.

The show will open with a gala reception in the mall’s Center Court on October 2, featuring wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a jazz trio. At the reception, Best of Show Awards will be presented to artists in a variety of categories.
