Halloween Drama With

The Mask & Wig Players

The C.H. Booth Library Young Adult Mask & Wig Players will present Halloween readings and an original play, Freaky Phil’s Costume Shop, by Newtown High School student AnnaMaria Marini, for children ages 10 and up and their families, Sunday, October 18, at 3 pm at the library. No tickets or preregistration is required to enjoy the thrills, chills, and fun.

Freaky Phil’s Costume Shop gets underway when a new store in town advertises the best Halloween costumes, said AnnaMaria. “Four friends go shopping there, and although they think there is something a bit strange about the owner, Freaky Phil, they buy wonderful costumes and are ready for a night of fun at the school party and contest. When they get dressed, they find out that things aren’t really what they seem to be…”

Other members of the Mask & Wig Players will give dramatic readings.

Creepy Halloween snacks and refreshments will be served after the show.

Mask & Wig is a teen Drama group led by Martha Bishop. It is open to all in sixth grade and up that meets at the library on Tuesdays after school. New members are always welcome. For more information contact young adult librarian Margaret Brown at 426-4533.
