To the Editor:
I have a âbee in my bonnet.â Actually I have several, but I will address two at this time. First, I do not need to know the exact location of President Bush every minute of the day. I need to know that he is doing the best job he can in running this great country that we, as American citizens, call home. I am thinking specifically of September 11, 2001. The broadcast media gave a blow-by-blow description of where he was and their best estimate of where he was going. In a time of national stress and crisis such as that was, his location should be known only by those people who have to know. We might just as well have stuck him on an open field with a big sign, âHere I am terrorist, come and get me.â
Second, there have been two reported thefts here in Newtown, of American flags since September 11, 2001. I cannot understand how anyone who calls themselves a citizen of The United States of America could be so low as to steal the symbol of our national pride. If you are unable to find one to purchase, make one yourself, or better yet have your children make one for you.
Thank you for letting me sound off.
