NVCC, FAA

To Host Free Aviation Seminar

WATERBURY — Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Aviation Science Program and the Federal Aviation Administration are sponsoring a free aviation safety seminar at the college on Monday, October 15, at 7:30 pm in the Café West.

The Landing Workshop seminar will provide a review of effective landing techniques to enhance the safety of all pilots and their passengers. Topics to be covered include the sequence of events a pilot should be going through as he or she prepares to enter the traffic pattern, approaches the runway, and executes the landing. The seminar qualifies for the FAA’s pilot proficiency awards program, “Wings.”

The NVCC Aviation Science program provides current pilots or college students with the educational background and training required to begin a career in aviation as a professional pilot. For more information about the seminar or the aviation program, contact Greg Erianne, Aviation Science Coordinator, at 203-596-8636.
