Support Group for Parents of Children with Learning Differences â Whether you child has a special learning need, physical challenge or chronic illness, emotional challenge or ADD, this group offers support and skill building. Meetings are Monday mornings - bimonthly - 9:30 to 11 am. Next meeting is October 22. November meetings are November 5 and 19.
Fathersâ Nights are underway. Next meeting is October 15 from 7:30 to 9 pm. Fathers have special relationships with their children. Come find out why these evenings get Rave Reviews!
Important Parent Program: âMedia and Violence: The Tie That Bindsâ this timely program will be held on Thursday, October 18, 7 pm, in the Newtown High School Lecture Hall. Dr Dorothy Singer, PhD, co-director of the Family and Television Research and Consultation Center, Yale University is the facilitator. This presentation is free, but call to register.

SibShops starting, free support group for siblings of children with special needs. Meeting the second Thursday of every month. Next meeting is October 11, 5:30 to 7:30 pm, pizza served. Call to register.
4-H â Elementary School meets Monday from 3:15 to 4:30 pm and Middle School meets Wednesday from 4 to 5:15 pm. Please call for information. As long as the Youth Garden grows â 4-H will be meeting there (on the grounds of Fairfield Hills). Call to register.
Mind Body Spirit â Students in grades 6-8 will develop flexibility, balance, concentration and awareness emphasizing kindness to self and others. Using elements of Pa Kua, Tâai chi and other systems, Master Châen will tailor the class to meet the abilities and interests of the students.
Classes have begun and continue on October 15, 22, 29, November 5 and 19 from 4 to 5PM. This is a free program presented by Master CH Chen and Deborah Chen. Call to register.
New Children of Divorce Support Groups â For grades 6â8, Mondays 6 to 7 pm and Elementary Students, Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Help your children through this emotional time in their lives. Groups are ongoing. Call to register.

New I Am Beautiful â Girls are cordially invited to attend two-part evening workshops each month to discuss and learn about issues that are important to them. Grades 6â8 Tuesdays, November 6 and 13; grades 9â12, Thursdays, November 8 and 15 from 6:30 to 8 pm. Call to register.

Family Bikes, Boards, & Blades Day â October 21 (rain date October 28) noon to 3pm. $7/adults, $5/youth (13 and under). Four bike routes, skateboard and rollerblading areas. Food stops! Registration is on the grounds of Fairfield Hills (Look for signs). A day of family fun and exercise!
