'Nature As Healer' At Flanders
âNature As Healerâ At Flanders
WOODBURY â On Tuesday, October 17, from 7 to 8 pm, Flanders Nature Center and Preserve will host a free talk by Marlow Shami entitled âNature As Healer.â
âNature can help us listen to the longing of our body, mind, soul, and spirit and provide wise counsel for our healing journey. When we pay attention to our surroundings and the unique spirit of place, we experience our spiritual self,â says Ms Shami.
Attendees will experience ways to get more out of their love of nature and the outdoors. Humans have at least 53 senses, not just five (verified through the Harvard Biological Laboratories in 1980). Imagine what life would be like with all these senses operating and get a taste of the exciting potential as a multisensory being during Ms Shamiâs introductory talk.
Marlow Shami is a spiritual healer, writer, and photographer. She conducts âNature as Healerâ workshops, energy healing meditation circles, and publishes a quarterly e-mail newsletter, NaturalSense. Her specialty is the healing connection between humans and the natural world, and she is pursuing an advanced degree in integrated ecopsychology and applied ecology.
In her private healing practice in Litchfield County, Conn., Ms Shami sees both humans and animals. She is a faculty member of the Touching Spirit Center in Litchfield.
Flanders Nature Center is on Flanders Road, at Church Hill Road in Woodbury. Registration for âNature As Healerâ is with Ms Shami directly; she can be reached by calling 203/720-0302.
