Fall Foliage â History Hike
DERBY â Take a walk back in time and discover the history of Osbornedale State Park and the local area. On Saturday, October 14, from 2 to 4 pm visitors can enjoy the fall foliage and explore what life was like 100 years ago during a history hike.
During the hike, visitors will discover what stone walls and old building foundations reveal about the local history of the area. While in the woods, participants will also look for natureâs clues that reveal the age and history of the forest.
Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes and plan to meet at Kellogg Environmental Center. To register, call 203/734-2513 between 9 am and 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. The Kellogg Environmental Center, operated by DEPâs Office of Communications and Education, is at 500 Hawthorne avenue (Route 34) in Derby.
