Golf Team Defeats Masuk And Notre Dame

Newtown High School’s boys’ golf team defeated host Masuk, at Whitney Farms Golf Course, 182-194 on September 21.
Colin Luby shot a 44 and Charlie Hanson, Carter Briggs, and Josh Glass all carded a 46. Dan Kellerman had a 55 for the Nighthawks.
A scheduled match with Bethel got rained out on September 22 and a clash with Fairfield Prep could not be finished due to lightning on September 26.
The Nighthawks hosted Notre Dame-Fairfield, at Rock Ridge Country Club, on September 27 and won 149-220. The Hawks posted their lowest aggregate score in three seasons since Coach Shawn Tierney took over. Luby was medalist with a 35, Hanson carded a 36, Briggs 37, Quinn Kull 41, and Glass 42.
