Two Warrants

Police said they arrested two men this week on assault charges in connection with a violent incident that occurred in July.

Also, police said that on September 27, they arrested Samuel Calkins, 23, of Southbury on a warrant, charging him with second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, and with first-degree unlawful restraint.

The charges against the two men stem from a physical dispute which they had with an unidentified victim on July 24.

Police received a complaint about the incident on July 30, after which they investigated and sought court warrants for the arrests.

Second-degree assault and first-degree unlawful restraint are felonies.

After processing, police released DeAngelis on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court for arraignment on October 12. Calkins was released on a written promise to appear in court on October 14.
