Waterbury probation officials notified Newtown police on September 28 that Aimee Ottaviano, 25, of Southbury was in custody, after which Newtown police transported Ottaviano to Newtown where they charged her on a warrant with sixth-degree larceny, Newtown police said.
The arrest stems from an incident that was reported to Newtown police on June 10.
Newtown police released Ottaviano on a written promise to appear on September 29 in Danbury Superior Court.
Newtown police said they released Ottaviano to Bethel police, who also held a warrant for her.
Dumping
Police received a complaint about 10 am on September 28 concerning some illegal dumping that had occurred on the eastbound shoulder of Hundred Acres Road, near Hattertown Road.
The items dumped included several black plastic bags containing roofing materials, pieces of deck railing, and pieces of white vinyl siding.
Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at 203-426-5841.
South Main Street
Police report a two-vehicle accident on southbound South Main Street, near its northern intersection with Peckâs Lane, about 1:45 pm on September 28.
Southbound motorist Thomas Murphy, 64, of Milford, who was driving a 2011 Subaru Outback station wagon, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Subaru was struck from behind by southbound motorist Peter Giuffre, 50, of New Milford, who was driving a 1996 Dodge caravan minivan, police said.
There were no injuries. Giuffre received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police report. Murphy received a misdemeanor summons for failure to have automotive insurance, police said.
