Fundraiser For Komen Foundation

The Newtown High School field hockey team will play a special game on Wednesday, October 12.

October is Play 4 The Cure Month, in which field hockey (and other competitive athletic teams at the middle school, high school, collegiate, club, and university levels) capitalize on the height of their season and join Susan G. Komen for the Cure in honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In addition to hosting Bethel High School at Blue & Gold Stadium, the NHS field hockey team will raise funds for the Komen foundation on October 12. A suggested donation of $5 per person is requested that afternoon, and the first 100 attendees will receive Play4TheCure pink bracelets. The NHS Snack Shack will be open, and baked goods will be available for purchase. Free coffee will also be served.

The field hockey program teams will raffle theme baskets during the course of their games. The JV team will begin playing at 5:30 pm, and the varsity game is scheduled to begin at 7 pm. Both teams will play with an official P4tC pink field hockey ball.

For additional information call Tracy Keane at 203-270-9492.
