The townâs new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at Fairfield Hills served as the backdrop for an instructional video being produced for the state government to introduce trainees to the world of 911 emergency dispatching.
Maureen Will, town director of emergency communications, said that the state selected Learning Dynamics, a national training company based in Wallingford, to revamp the stateâs 911 certification training program for telecommunicators.
As part of the training program, Learning Dynamics and Lasting Image New Media are developing a video production titled, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Being a Telecommunicator, she said.
Nild Sansone, president of Lasting Image, oversaw the production of the video at the EOC on September 24. Mr Sansone is the firmâs director, producer, and video editor.
Segments of the training video were photographed in the dispatching room at the EOC.
Staff members and equipment from the townâs police, fire, and ambulance units will be featured in the training video, Ms Will said.
