Boys U14

Torrington 5, Newtown 3 – Adam Buccino, Matt Iassogna and Kyle Kromberg each contributed a goal in a loss to Torrington. The defense was held down by Andy Lapple and Ben Miles while George Zaruba, Eric Keogler, and Chris McCain controlled the midfield.  Zach Dlouhy and Matt Baier played well on offense.

Boys U13

Strikers 7, Southbury 1 – Kyle Moore scored three goals and Ryan Pasko scored a pair while Michael Carrafiello and Tony Vacaro each added one apiece to power the Newtown offensive explosion.  Daniel Hufziger recorded three assists, Daniel Lynch had two and Michael Carrafiello had one. Alex Miller and Russell Morgan played well.

Girls U13

Roadrunners 5, Watertown 2 – Sarah Murtha scored the in the final minute of the first half to break a 2-2 tie and the Roadrunners never looked back. Kaitlin Brophy and KellyAnne Brophy each had two goals and an assist and Casey Rutter was awesome in goal. The midfield dominated play in the second half … led by Murtha, Emma Kingsley, and Becca Castegner. Alex Israel and Kristin Stoller had great games.

Roadrunners 3, Brookfield 1 – Becca Castegner and Kaitlin Brophy scored in the first half and KellyAnne Brophy added a late goal to seal the victory. Emma Kingsley and Castegner had assists as the defense of Kelly O’Connor, Sarah Attanasio, Ali Pliszka and Alex Israel was stellar.

Roadrunners 5, Torrington 1 – The Roadrunners dominated play with great ball possession and pulled away in the second half. Jill Jagoe, Emma Kingsley, Becca Castegner and Kaitlin Brophy and KellyAnne Brophy scored goals. Ali Pliszka, KellyAnne Brophy and Shannon Paproski had assists. Sarah Murtha, Meagan Gonzalez and Becca Jaroszewski had great games.

Boys U11

Cobras 4, Middlebury 1 – Nick Barreto, Andrew Kelley, Eric Fiore and Nick Gerbo each scored a goal to lead the Cobras to the win. Danny Bittman, Ian Solaski and Robert Willis added to the pressure while Sam Langdon, Noah Sock, Matt Rahtelli and Pieter Martino anchored the D.

Cobras 6, Torrington 1 – Connor Quinn scored twice while Eric Fiore, Noah Sock (penalty shot), Robert Willis and Sean Elliott scored once as the Cobras swamped Torrington. Ian Solaski and Chris Erikson supported the offense while Christian Mather had an assist. Peter Kerns and Patrick Thornberg played tough D, with several tackles a piece.

Girls U11

Flash 3, Milford 1 (Connecticut Cup) – With the win over Milford, the Flash advance to play Hebron on October 1 in the Connecticut Cup.

Flash 7, New Fairfield 1 – Melissa Buccino scored three goals and Stephanie Roman added two to power the Flash. Kelsey Karp and Kristen Grabowski (penalty kick) scored while Morgan Kirol notched an assist.

Boys U10

Newtown Bombers 1, Newtown FC 0 – In at battle of the two Newtown U10 travel teams, Robert Linden had the only goal. Adam Hufziger, Austin Rafferty, Taite Mansfield and Christian Barrett anchored the defense while Connor Gallagher and Barrett had clean sheets in the goal. For Newtown FC, Brandon Marks and Jacob Moore led the attack. Andrew Martinez and Phillip Healy were tough in the back. Logan Puleri had a clean sheet in goal in the second half.

Boys U14

Flying Chipmunks 3, Wild Fire 1 – Dakota Voliotes scored two goals on assists from Liam Ferguson (one on a header in front) to lead the Chipmunks to the win. Liam Ferguson scored on an assist from Matt Hoffman and Robert Nordman made an excellent shot on goal. For the Wild Fire, Chris Arnone scored while Brandon Luxkaranayagam, Ivan Hutchison and Keenan Bennett had great games.

Girls U14

Hyper Hippos 0, The Unknown 0 – Jillian Thompson, Deanna Tassinari, Katie Howell and Allison Blume had solid efforts for the Hippos as Matilda Dean, Kayla O’Leary, Danielle Capoziello and Leslie Blume had great games for the Unknowns.

Boys U10

Average Joe’s 5, Pulverizing Peanuts 2 – James Marusi scored two goals for the Average Joes with Shane Quimby, Mergin Bajraliu, and Tyler Hanley each scoring an additional goal for the win. Connor Anderson scored both goals for the Pulverizing Peanuts. Sander Nydell and Brandon Cooper had strong performances.

Wild Boyz 1, Orangutans 1 – Brenton Scott scored for the Wild Boyz and Wesley Morlock scored for the Orangutans in the draw. For the Boyz, Jacob Locorotondo and Mathew Austin played great on defense as Fredrik Dean played well on offense. For the ‘Tans, goaltender Sean Gallagher and Zachary McNulty had solid games.

Boys U8

Huskies 2, Wizards 1 – Michael Parker and Alex Gerbo scored to lift the Huskies to the win. Jared Brady and Dawson Goodrich played great defense. For the Wizards, Deegan Beauchemin scored the goal, Sean Dalton played well in goal and Nicklaus Hall played a strong all around game.

Badgers 3, Fierce Jaguars 2 – Max Galassi, Robert Katrinak and Chris Manfredi all scored a goal apiece as the Badgers edged the Fierce Jaguars by a goal. Liam Kelly also contributed with strong play on defense. Paul O’Leary and Jacob Harper both scored for the Jaguars and were helped by Owen Richards and Timothy Pritchard on D.

Bulldogs 2, Vikings 1 – Clay Gattey scored a pair of goals to lift the Bulldogs to the win. William Kelchner assisted on the second goal while Justin Oelberg and Izaiah Volpe played well. For the Vikings, Matt Maturo scored while Michael Cloonan and Matthew Kretz anchored the defense.

Strikers 5, Tornadoes 1 – Scott Anderson, Lukas Palumbo, Spencer Tolson, Albert Dean and Mason Melillo all scored a goal to lead the Strikers to the win. For the Tornadoes, Quinn Helmig scored the goal, Ryan Sullivan played a strong offensive game and Trevor Gaines played well all over the field.

Strikers 6, Gators 1 – Drew Sullivan scored three goals to power the Strikers. Luca Imbimbo and Sean Watkins also scored and Nicholas Klein helped out with tenacious play on D. For the Gators, Devin DiNicola scored their goal with sharp passing from Michael Stierle. Dan Olszewski anchored the defense with great goaltending from Ryan Moyer. Bradley Kretz contributed with a strong overall effort.

Great Sharks 2, Blue Dragons 2 – Daniel Hamula and Kaj Djonne scored for the Great Sharks while Charlie Fletcher and Patrick Berger tallied goals for the Blue Dragons. Conrad Riellly and Sam Omalyev led the Great Sharks with great overall games. Josh Houle and Zachary Weiland led the Blue Dragons with outstanding play at midfield and on defense.

Fierce Jaguars 3, Tigersharks 0 – Jamie Cochrane, Paul O’Leary and Andrew Svanda all scored to lead the Jaguars to the win. Jesse Cabral and Owen Richards played stellar defense for the Jaguars. Eddie Gardner and Devin Matte had a great game on offense for the Tigersharks, but unfortunately were unable to score. Forest Weatherby was outstanding on defense.

The Golden Toasters 7, Power Pigs 3 – Patric Milano and Alex Roche scored two goals apiece and Francis Saraceni, Colin Dutt, and Patrick Afriyie added one apiece to lead the Toasters to the win. Kevin Ovendorf, Matthew McGoldrick and Tyler Ruefenacht scored for the Pigs.  Austin Isola was great in the midfield for the Pigs as well.

Girls U8

Racing Stripes 3, Ball Hogs 1 – Emily Riley scored two goals to lead the Stripes to the win. Samantha Cannavo made a spectacular pass to Taylor Lafave for the third goal. Rachel Williams played great in goal. For the Ball Hogs, Kaylie Daniels scored while Callie Kraushaar played well at all positions. Jamie Calandro was terrific in goal and Julia Shoeni was solid on offense.

Munchkins 6, Cheetahs 2 – Amy Martinelli scored three goals to lift the Munchkins to the win. Danielle Agugliaro scored twice and Haley Trudell had one goal. Sydney DiMartino and Avery Higham both had an outstanding game. For the Cheetahs, Quinn Karp and Brenna Kelly each scored 1 goal. Emma DeFlumeri and Madeleine Peck played great games.

Fireballs 3, Tigers 2 – Bailey Smith, Marina Renzi and Katerina Ringes each scored for the Fireballs in the win. Genny Denault and Madison Duffy had great games all around. For the Tigers, Emma Burns and Katie Bedell each scored, while Olivia Holman, Amanda Martinez, Hannah Hripak and Catherine McHugh played well.

Ball Hogs 2, Soccerstars 2 – Julia Schoeni and Caitlin Filiato scored goals to lead the Hogs while Tess Stofko was great on defense and Jamie Calandro and Taryn McCleary were strong all over the field. For the ‘Stars, Amanda Mele and Michaela Kuligowski scored goals as Kayla Disibio was great in goal and Katie Reilly was strong on defense.

Dolphins 2, All Stars 0 – Kelsey Muniz scored twice to lead the Dolphins to the win. Sarah Durr had two great saves while playing goalie, Hailey Conrad played great defense with a couple of steals and Charlotte Stenz played great on offense with two shots on goal. For the Stars, Claire Boyle and Maddie Bridges were aggressive on offense. Stella Wetchler and Lexi Rodriguez kept the ball in the opponents half most of the game.

Comets 1, Funky Monkeys 0 – Sydney Hutchison scored the only goal to lead the Comets.  Ryan Cassin and Sarah Stofko played a strong defensive game. Tami Corsi was great in goal. For the Monkeys, Jennifer Davis and Jenna Calandro played well on offense,  Jennifer Indelicato was strong in goal, and Emily Albrecht was a force on defense.

Lady Hawks 4, Cheetah Champions 0 – Megan Milano scored two goals while Meg Korchman and Kailee Dunnigan scored one each to lead the Lady Hawks to the win. Ashley Marks played outstanding defense and Rachel Lorenc played great all around. For the Cheetahs, Hannah Grant and Amanda Donovan played on offense as Courtney Datin and Anna Biondi anchored the D.

Tigers 2, Mustangs 0 – Alyssa Ruefenacht scored twice to lift the Tigers to the win. Amy Pruner, Eliza Eggleston and Noel Veillette had solid performances. Kelly Coughlin, Lauren Villamana and Susan Ziegler all played well for the Mustangs.

U6

Panthers 3, Blue Yankees 2 – Evan Eggleston had two goals and Matthew Guinee one goal to lead the Panthers to the win. Lauren Granville played great defense, Jessica Maturo played well on offense and Ryan Harvey had four saves in goal. For the Yankees, Colin McCafferty scored two goals. Luke and Olivia Caplan both had a great game on offense and Tommy Horan and Thomas Majlinger were tough on defense. It was a close game and everyone played hard.

Fighting Irish 5, Dragons 0 – Scott Soifer, Jordan Klein, Ally Morton and Kayla O’Sullivan led the Irish while Austin Engler, David Usher, Dylan Cortese and Jack Bittman powered the Dragons.
