Antonina DâAmico, 82, of Bethel died September 24. She was the widow of Gaetano DâAmico.
Mrs DâAmico is survived by two sons, Peter DâAmico and his wife, Marie, of Newtown, and Salvatore DâAmico and his wife, Marlyn, of Bethel; a brother, Joseph Drago of Livingston, N.J.; three sisters, Santina Tripi, Maria Casale, and Cologera Palumbo; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Josephine Perna.
She was born April 24, 1923, in Alia, Sicily, a daughter of Gaetano and Anna (Lopesti) Drago. In an effort to make a better life for her family she immigrated to the United States with her husband and children in 1960, living in Livingston, N.J. Mrs DâAmico became a US citizen in 1996 and was employed as a tailor for several department stores, including Lord & Taylor, from which she retired in 1997. After retiring, Mrs DâAmico moved to Bethel to be closer to her family. She was a parishioner of St Maryâs Church, Bethel, and was an active member of the Bethel Senior Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St Maryâs Church, Bethel, September 29. Burial was in gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
