Drum-Making Class At IAIS
WASHINGTON â The Institute for American Indian Studies will offer a special class on drum-making in the style Native Americans have used for centuries.
The workshop will give an overview of drum use as well as teach the method of making a 13-inch cedar single head drum with deerhide head and beater. It will be presented on Sunday, October 15, at the museum, 38 Curtis Road, from noon to 5 pm.
Reservations are required. The fee, which includes all materials, is $110 per person. Call 860/868-0518 extension 3 to reserve a space. Connecticut educators can earn 0.5 CEUs by taking this class.
