To the Editor:

I want to express my support for my husband, Jim Landy, who is running for Legislative Council District 1. Since we met over 14 years ago, I have witnessed his unwavering dedication to family, friends, and our community. On our walks, he makes a point to greet our neighbors and offers assistance when they need help. He sees the value in our community and strives to bring about positive change.

Jim coordinated the installation of bus stop signage on Castle Hill Rd to ensure the safety of the children after seeing cars stop short for school buses. Jim has a proven track record of being fair and detail oriented through his volunteer position on the Fairfield Hills Authority. He takes pride in his efforts and sees the enormous business potential that Fairfield Hills can be for our town. He has a strong interest in our local businesses and observed the impact of the worsening economy on them.

Jim is a man of integrity. His profession requires him to be detail oriented, to uncover and understand every aspect of an issue. Jim’s work ethic is an integral part of his life in that he’s seen how people have been affected by the issues facing our town.

Once elected, my husband will serve our community with the same integrity, passion, dedication, and sense of purpose that he has shown throughout his life. Jim’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the well-being of Newtown is unwavering. His willingness to listen to the concerns of the community and work collaboratively with others to find common ground is a testament to his leadership skills and willingness to do public service.

I believe that Jim will be a valuable asset to our community, working tirelessly to represent everyone’s best interests and make meaningful contributions to Newtown.
