Judith A. Byerley, 67, died September 10 at Danbury Hospital. She was a longtime resident of Newtown. She was born in Stratford, and was the daughter of the late Katherine and Wasil Gingeroski.

Ms Byerley grew up in Shelton, and graduated from Shelton High School. She attended Quinnipiac College and worked as a secretary in the engineering department of Sikorsky Aircraft. 

Survivors include her stepdaughters Wendy DiLorenzo of Brookfield and Sandra Shaw of Florida; brother Gerald Gingeroski of Spring Hill, Fla.; step-grandchildren Travis Cassidy of Newtown and Megan DiLorenzo of Brookfield; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat. Her husband, James Byerley, predeceased her.

A graveside service will take place at 11 am, Saturday, October 10, at Land’s End Cemetery, Route 25, Hawleyville. There are no calling hours.
