Youth Runners Win Pumpkin Race

The Newtown Hawks Intermediate/Middle School Cross Country team attended the 3rd Annual Bethel Run for the Pumpkin race on September 19. Newtown’s girls’ and boys’ teams swept the competition.

The girls were led by Ovilia Hage in first, Maggie Beardsley in second, Maddie Findley in third, Julia DiMartono in fourth, Rylee Mulligan in fifth, Madeleine Meier, in eighth, and Susanna Naposki in 11th.

The boys’ team had first through sixth place finishers as follows: Reilly Rising, Joel Duval, Jacob Steinebrey, Connor McNerney, Peter Fagerholm, and Dylan Bartlett.
