To the Editor:

Because she has been nominated by the Newtown Democratic Town Committee, LeReine Frampton will be one of Newtown’s two registrars of voters. She doesn’t need my endorsement to win office, but she deserves it anyway.

LeReine knows that honest and fair elections are at the heart of all democracies. She has always worked hard to ensure that Newtown is in full compliance with election laws. Under her leadership, Newtown’s polling stations run smoothly and efficiently. She knows the complexities of state election laws. In fact, LeReine is so well respected that she has been chosen by the secretary of the state to give workshops for other registrars of voters.

If a candidate has done her job well, voters should affirm that on election day, even if she is running unopposed. It’s one way of saying, “Thank you. Well done.” LeReine Frampton deserves no less.
